EXPRESSIONS
OF WELLNESS

Welcome to the My Voice Media Center Blog, where creativity and self-care meet.

Join us each week for session spotlights, event highlights, and reflections on how art and community support mental wellness.

On October 4th the My Voice Media Center had an Open Mic Event, We were so proud to see so many of our participants take the stage. The night went great and everyone had a wonderful time. We look forward to doing it again. Thank you to everyone who came out and either performed or enjoyed the show !!!!

Stay tuned for a video recap of the night being made by our very own Susan

On Saturday, September 28th the MVMC had a great time at the NAMI Walk in Tulare. Lots of different organizations were there and everyone participated in a team T-Shirt contest. The My Voice Media Center won!!!!!!!! Our shirts were created using ideas from our participants. They were yellow and on the back it said "Break the Stigma, Speak up and Speak out". It also had three lines that said I AM and had a space for us to fill in ourselves. For example, one shirt said "I am a friend, sister, and Mom". Under that, each of us wrote either I am more than my illness, more than my struggles, or more than my diagnosis. Great job everyone for your amazing shirt design !!!!!

Greetings from the My Voice Media Center!

It's been wonderful to see so many of you participating in our sessions, exploring your creativity, and building connections within our community.

As we enter September, we’re embracing the steady, calming energy of Olive Green – a color that symbolizes peace, resilience, and enduring strength. Just as the olive tree stands firm through changing seasons, we too can find resilience in our challenges and grow stronger with each experience. This month, let's come together to explore and nurture these qualities in ourselves and in our shared spaces.

At-home Activity: Resilience Journal

This month, consider starting a “Resilience Journal.” Each day, jot down one challenge you’ve faced and how you overcame it, whether big or small. Reflect on the strength you demonstrated and how it contributed to your growth. This simple practice can help you build a strong foundation of resilience over time.
